Coach Hood explains adjustments to the Bears defense. Sylvan Hills lost Sept. 26 to #4 Marion 46-43.
The Football Bears took their first loss of the season after losing 46-43 to the Marion Patriots.
One quarter in, the Bears had a lead with the score being 6-7. They then extended the lead to 13-6 early in the second quarter.
Marion took over the ball with 0:55 on the clock and in and immediately scored on the first play with a 71 yard passing touchdown to make the score 26-19, Marion lead, at half time.
Marion came out of halftime strong scoring twice to extend their lead even further getting up 39-19 have a twenty point lead.
The Bears fought back with two unanswered scores of their own to bring the score to 39-35. The Bears then got the ball back with around seven minutes on the clock but came up short with a turnover on downs.
Marion extended their lead to 46-35 and the Bears responded making it 46-43.
The Bears had too short amount of time and too long a distance once they got the ball back and Marion held on to win the game 46-43.
The Bears offense put up 43 points with 509 total yards of offense.
They had a total of 211 rushing yards with Isaiah Howell as the lead back accounting for 124 of those yards.
They also had a total of 288 passing yards from Tyler Hampton and Lakobe Brent as the lead receiver with 102 of those yards on 11 receptions.

The Bears (3-1) head to Benton this week to take on the Panthers (3-1) this Friday, October 3.
