SHHS Wrestling Season of 2023-2024 Comes to an End

Both the boys and girls 2023-2024 wrestling teams competed at the state tournaments this past Friday and Saturday at Jack Stephens Center. Seniors Kaylee Hester and D’mysha James; Malachi Carrethers, Deamond Simpson, Wyatt Niemotka, DJ Givens, Alexis Moran, Craig Bako, and Lewis Meadough competed in their last high school matches.

The Lady Bears finished the season with ten placers:

Emele Siegfried: 2nd, 100

Riley Fazio: State champion, 105

Zoey Weeks: 2nd, 115

Giselle Lopez: 4th, 125

Alayia Watson: 4th, 135

Natalie Noles: 4th, 145

Adrian York: 3rd, 155

Kyra Looney: 2nd, 170

D’Mysha James: State champion 190 – Most Outstanding Wrestler

Kylee Laird: 2nd, HWT

The Lady Bears, as a team, finished 2nd place as a team.

The Boys team finished with 3 placers:

Jelani Cure, 4th

Malachi Carrethers , 4th

Deamond Simpson, 4th & 3x All State wrestler

Congratulations to the Sylvan Hills Wrestling teams for closing this season with so much pride! And a big congrats to the 2023-2024 seniors on completing their final season!
