Hillside Banner: What made you start entrepreneurship?
Kennedy Farr: What made me start entrepreneurship was the fact I grew up watching my mother do this one skill which was doing hair. I found it very enjoyable with the different styles and different artsy ways you can do hair. So once I found out you can make money from doing it and that it can become a business and career, that’s when I took place in my entrepreneurship.
Banner: What is your business?
Farr: I do hair, I plan to get licensed in not just hair, but nails, lashes, makeups, skin care, and all things, cosmetology and take my business to the next level.
Banner: What motivates you?
Farr: What motivates me is the history behind my hair. Knowing the history behind my hair pushes me to not only do a great job, but to take it more seriously because it’s not just about me, but about my community.
Banner: What are the pros and cons?
Farr: I would say the pros two owned my own business. I learned many things about how to be stable, how to be organized, and how to be financially responsible. Also, the money that I gained from owning my own business, I work on my own time, my own schedule. And I would say the cons to owning my own business would be because I’m so young I do not own my own shop. so that way I am working from home so that does put a little pause in between things and then just you deal with different customers.
Banner: How far do you plan on taking your business?
Farr: I plan to take my business very far. I not only plan to own a salon here in Arkansas, but I plan to be a business owner in many different states. I plan to own a salon here in Arkansas, but then also own many different salons in many other different states and just to take my business further and be worldwide with my business.
