Mrs. Malone is one of our biology teachers but also teaches the principle of bio meds. She is not only a teacher, she is also the varsity cheer coach which recently prepared for state competitions. With the state cheer competition approaching, Mrs. Malone was busy balancing her teaching responsibilities with coaching practices. Her dedication to both biology and cheerleading demonstrates a commitment to her students’ academic and extracurricular success.
Mrs. Malone started her journey teaching four years ago at Sylvan Hills High School teaching biology. Having started her teaching career four years ago, Mrs. Malone is still relatively new to the profession but brings a fresh perspective to her biology classes. In those four years, she’s witnessed the growth and development of numerous students, contributing to their understanding of the natural world.
“I wanted to be Mrs. Duncan. I just wanted to come back and be Duncan. She was my biology teacher and my AP bio teacher whenever I went to Sylvan Hills, and all I wanted to do was be Mrs. Duncan.”
With the state cheer competition coinciding with the last week of the semester, Mrs. Malone faced a particularly demanding schedule. Balancing final exams, grading, and other end-of-semester tasks with the intense preparation required for a state-level competition requires exceptional organizational skills and dedication. She’s burning the candle at both ends to ensure her students’ academic success and her cheer team’s peak performance.
“Something you don’t know about me is that I have a growth spurt that I’m planning on. Um, yeah, I’m really planning on it, so wait around for it.”
