Ms. Arielle Thomas, who can be found on the first floor of the 01 building, is our Food Safety and Nutrition teacher at Sylvan Hills High School. She has been teaching here for three years, and has been teaching in total for four years. Ms. Thomas didn’t initially envision herself becoming a teacher, until she had a high school teacher profoundly inspire her. This inspiriational force was a kind-hearted woman who genuinely cared—not just about the student, but about the person—which sparked Ms. Thomas’ passion to consider getting into teaching.

Ms. Thomas educates our students on cooking and other essential skills relating to food safety. She previously has taught FACS, which stands for Families and Consumer Sciences, and deals with life skills. Ms. She now only teaches Food Safety and Nutrition.

Ms. Thomas says one of her favorite parts to what she does now, is the cooking aspect, because she gets the chance to try her students’ food.
