The Sylvan Hills Bears beat the West Memphis Blue Devils 55-12.
It was a dominant win for the Bears, as they controlled the lead throughout the whole game and mercy ruled the Blue Devils.
In a game where a mercy ruled takes place, as long as the team ahead is winning by 35 points or more the clock runs without pauses unless for a timeout.
Quarterback Tyler Hampton threw for 342 yards and 5 touchdowns.
Running backs Isaiah Howell, EJ Duckery, and Messiah Vales all reached the end zone versus the Blue Devils. Isaiah Howell led the way with 90 yards rushing and 2 touchdowns. EJ Duckery had 54 rushing yards and also reached the end zone once with a receiving touchdown. Messiah Vales had 36 rushing yards along with 3 receptions for 27 yards and a touchdown.
Wide receivers Tyler Blakely, Ryan Parham, and Lakobe Brent all reached the end zone. Tyler Blakely had 127 yards and a touchdown. Ryan Parham had 61 yards and 2 touchdowns. Lakobe Brent had 45 yards and a touchdown.
Around the conference, both El Dorado and Marion lost, meaning that the two teams tied at the top of the division are Sylvan Hills and Benton. The Bears keep the one seed because they have the head-to-head tiebreaker versus the Benton Panthers.
The Bears travel to Jonesboro this Friday to face the Jonesboro Hurricanes.
