Describe your favorite part about cheerleading? Stunts.
Tell me about tryouts and the announcement of the squad? Everyone was nervous but the tryouts went smoothly. They posted who made the team on our Instagram cheer page. We had assigned numbers and they announced the numbers.
Tell me about the competitions? We compete against other schools. We compete for a week and play a 2-minute 30 second routine. We tumble. We stunt. We do pyramids.
What is your total number of years of cheerleading experience?This is my fourth year cheering.
What position are you in most stunts? Backspot.
Describe the worst experience as a cheerleader. Nothing has really happened to me that’s bad, but once when I was stunting a girl elbowed me in my eye and I had a black eye.
Tell me what you do for team support in addition to actual cheering?Lifting up the people like football players and basketball players.
Explain the ways in which cheerleading has made you a better person? Being able to help other people and keep them motivated.
Tell me of a time when you were most proud cheering? When we hit our stunts in practice.
How much does it cost for each item to be a part of the cheer team? We pay for cheer camp. Each year ,we get different bows. Seniors will pick the bows, and this year we have three or four different bows that we buy. Also, when we do themes, like a black-out or a white-out or gold-out, we have to buy supplies.
How does your schedule and life change during the off-season? So, during the off season we can get our nails done. We can get piercings during that time. We have more time to spend with our friends during the summer. Our off season is during the summer.
