This Tuesday, January 21, The Bears will face off against the Greenbrier Panthers for a big conference game. The game will be at Sylvan Hills Arena starting at 6:00 p.m. with the Lady Bears game. This game for the Lady Bears can boost their chances to make the playoffs this post-season. For the boys, this game will bring the chance to build up a win streak.
Senior De’Vonte West had this to say about the upcoming game, ” [t]alent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence wins championships.”
The boys are coming off of a huge win vs the Beebe Badgers beating them in that showing 70-39. The Panthers of Greenbrier come into this game 3-1 in conference. They are coming in on a win streak beating Jacksonville in their most recent game 61-47.
Junior Deryeus Fowlkes said, ” When we are all playing together as a team with high intensity at a fast pace we are unstoppable, no one in the STATE can mess with this team when we are all clicking.”
As for the Lady Bears, they come into this game after losing to the Beebe Badgers 44-27. A win can push them up for their chances to be in the playoffs this post-season. The Lady Panthers come into this game after getting the win vs. Maumelle this past week. The Panthers won 43-29 in the showing.
Senior Drew Lattimore said, “I think we play hard and with confidence when we are all locked into the game, we are THAT team whenever we get going.”
