Coach Stricklen is the P.E. teacher and head coach of the Sylvan Hills Lady Bears. Now in her second year at Sylvan Hills High School and her third year teaching overall, she’s already made a powerful impact on and off the court. “I got into teaching and coaching because I want to give back to kids and help them reach their dreams, just like I did,” she says. “Through coaching the game I love, basketball, I get to teach discipline, teamwork, and life lessons that go far beyond the court.” A surprising fact you may not know about Coach Stricklen is that she is the youngest of 22 grandchildren.
