Today’s teacher spotlight is on Ms. Rosalie Siracuse, who teaches English language development at Sylvan Hills High School. Siracuse is known for being a good person and a good teacher.
Siracuse said she became a teacher because she loves meeting new people and helping them learn. What keeps her passionate about teaching is her students who make every day fun.
One thing Siracuse enjoys most about teaching is being with students and supporting them. She said, “I love that every day is different, and I love to learn about my students.”
Siracuse hopes students learn more English, communication skills, and to encourage their classmates. She wants her students to remember that if they work hard and try their best, they will be successful.
When asked about a memorable moment, Siracuse shared, “It was the beginning of the year when I met my students.”
It was her first day of school and her first day of working here.
Outside of school, Siracuse enjoys reading, camping, hiking and traveling. Many students might be surprised to learn that she has traveled to 20 countries.
Ms. Siracuse continues to make a positive impact at Sylvan Hills High School by helping the students when they don’t understand. Students and staff agree that Siracuse is kind, patient, smart and understanding.
English teacher Ms. Runkle is impressed with Siracuse. “She has greatly improved the functionality and care of our ESOL program and ESL students at our school.”
Runkle went on to say Siracuse is organized and caring.
“She has helped at least 20 students earn their Global Seal of Biliteracy, which is an amazing accomplishment!” Runkle said.
