On April 29, the Sylvan Hills band put on a concert in the Performing Arts Center to raise money for the school band. The leadership of the band planned the event to give an opportunity to share their music with the student body. It was a show dedicated to the people who love bands and who appreciate music.

The students played multiple songs of John Williams’ movie pieces like Star Wars, Jurassic Park, and E.T. The concert raised $180. The money given towards the event will help continue band programs. Band worked hard to make this happen.

This concert was the last band concert of the year. The people in the stands were cheering for every song played. There were around 40 people at the event. A select group of choir also sang during the performance.

Mr. Bailey, the band director, said, “For our first time, it went great! Even though the audience was small, they were very supportive and appreciative, and the performers enjoyed the experience.”
