It is finally the end of the 3rd quarter, meaning seniors only have one quarter remaining in their high school careers. With this being said, we are honoring our seniors before they graduate and start their new adult lives. Alyssa Chavis is a very talented and hard working student who values creativity when it comes to her everyday life. Showing her personality in every task she is given, she brings a colorful vibe into every aspect of our school.
She is a part of the Sylvan hills choir, which has a handful of sub groups that she also participates in, one of those is the Beauty shop, “It’s a small choir group with about 5 people. I have to learn music outside of school and practice it as a group in school.” The other two groups being Vox and Acapella. Singing is probably one of her biggest passions, and it takes up most of her time. Due to this, she doesn’t participate in many things when it comes to being outside of school.
Her other passions and hobbies include all things art. She is currently involved in the sculpture, crafts and pottery, and drawing classes here at Sylvan Hills. These are her favorite parts about the school, “all of these programs offer a lot of opportunities to learn new things.” Going along with her creative nature and personality. She wants to continue to create beautiful pieces of art, “I wish to learn blacksmithing as well so I can make swords and jewelry.“ She plans on attending trade school and becoming a welder.
When she does manage to find free time in her busy schedule she spends it doing the thing she finds comfort in, “I love entertainment, all of my story games and my long playlists.” She also likes to spend it watching her favorite TV shows.
With her final year of high school coming to a close, the Hillside Banner wishes her all the best, and hopes that she never loses her creative spark and continues to create wonderful art works for the years to come.
