Former TikTok star Addison Rae has rebranded herself into a chic popstar.
Addison first rose to fame around 2019 when TikTok was at its peak. Collabing with other big names at the time, she easily made a name for herself on the app. Though that fame eventually ran out as people no longer were interested in dancing videos. For a couple years there was not much heard from her, leaving fans worried and wondering where she was.
Now with the recent release of her album, fans know exactly where she was and what she was working on.
Summer 2024, in the midst of amazing pop music being released left and right, Addison dropped her own pop song titled ‘Diet Pepsi’ Although it didn’t exactly blow up or go viral. Although, those who knew the song loved it. For a minute the song felt niche to many and like a hidden gem. This was the song that left her fans not only wanting, but demanding more music. She then went on to release another single ‘Headphones On’ in this previous June. Unlike ‘Diet Pepsi,’ this song did blow up. Whether it was the marketing of the song or the actual song itself, you could not escape it. Complaints of this were slim to none.
Most recently, in June 2025, Addison released her first album titled ‘Addison’ with many hits and fan favorites such as ‘Fame is a Gun’ and ‘High Fashion.’ Many people are comparing her style to Britney Spears, some even going as far as to call her ‘Modern day Britney’ which is a pretty big name to fill. Her Britney-esque personality is more shown through her stage presence with her elaborate dances and background dancers. She was even recently nominated for Grammy award ‘Best New Artist’ for 2026.
Because Addison’s music career is newfound and sudden, it has left haters to question whether this new bubbly popstar persona is actually a persona. Many people are claiming they think her new career is fake and disingenuous just because of her former ‘basic’ TikTok fame.
Whether you do think Addison’s music career is fake, or you believe she will be the next Britney, there is no denying that she is rising to bigger things.
