For Senior Bella Howell, the path to success began when she stepped into her AP Language and AP U.S. History classes during her sophomore and junior years.
Throughout high school, Howell has accomplished a great deal. Her biggest and most favorite achievement was earning a spot on a national volleyball team.
“Throughout the season, I travelled to a lot of new places,” Howell said. “It was really fun to travel to new places while also doing something I loved.”
Her motivation came from a personal goal: getting through high school and into college debt-free.
This year, Howell added another major accomplishment to her list. As a senior, she became the editor of the Sylvan Hills High School yearbook. The position requires responsibility and a strong understanding of many aspects of publication, but she’s no stranger to editing. Last year, she served as the editor of the school’s literary magazine, “The Breeze.”
“I am enjoying it a lot, and working with everyone has been fun,” she said.
Balancing classes and yearbook duties keeps Howell busy, but she doesn’t let the workload slow her down.
In addition to schoolwork, she also works at David’s Burgers and often describes herself as both busy and enthusiastic. Still, she makes time for her interests. She is a big fan of K-pop and was able to attend an ENHYPEN concert this past August.
While K-pop is a major passion, Howell’s long-term goal stands above the rest: becoming a Speech Language Pathologist. Her drive to excel in her future career has motivated her throughout high school and will continue to guide her until she reaches her goal.
