Sylvan Hills is turning the page to an exciting new chapter as newly hired head coach Trey Schucker steps in to lead the Bears football program. With an impressive résumé that includes state championships at both the 4A and 5A levels, Schucker arrives with a reputation as a proven winner and one of the most respected coaches in the state.
Schucker’s success hasn’t come by accident. When asked what his championship teams all had in common, he didn’t hesitate.
“They were disciplined and full of guys who were bought in,” Schucker said. “Every player understood their role, trusted each other, and committed to the process every single day.”That mindset is exactly what he plans to bring to Sylvan Hills. Known for building tough, physical teams that play with intensity, Schucker emphasizes accountability both on and off the field. Players can expect structured practices, high expectations, and a culture where effort and attitude matter just as much as talent.
“Football is more than just wins and losses,” Schucker said. “It’s about developing young men—teaching responsibility, teamwork, and how to handle adversity. If we do those things right, the wins will come.”Schucker also stressed the importance of unity within the program. From players and coaches to the community, he believes success starts with everyone pulling in the same direction.
“We want to build something special here,” he said. “A program the school and community can be proud of. That takes everyone being all in.” said Coach Schucker.
Players have already begun to feel the energy and direction that Schucker brings. His track record speaks for itself, but it’s his leadership style and clear vision that have many believing Sylvan Hills football is on the rise. With a championship pedigree and a focus on discipline, effort, and buy-in, Coach Trey Schucker is ready to set a new standard—and a new tone—for Sylvan Hills football.
