The Sylvan Hills Lady Bears delivered a commanding performance this past Tuesday night, January 6, rolling past the Parkview Patriots 52–37 behind a monster all-around effort from junior Kylee Metcalf.
Metcalf was unstoppable on both ends of the floor, finishing with 20 points, 21 rebounds, and 10 blocks to record a rare triple-double and anchor the Lady Bears from start to finish. Her presence in the paint set the tone early, as Sylvan Hills built a steady lead and never allowed Parkview to find an offensive rhythm.
Defensively, the Lady Bears swarmed the Patriots, with Metcalf altering shots and cleaning the glass, while the rest of the lineup capitalized on second-chance opportunities and forced turnovers. Sylvan Hills’ balanced scoring and disciplined defense helped stretch the lead in the second half and seal the win.
After the game, Metcalf credited her teammates for the standout performance.
“This was a total team win,” Metcalf said. “My teammates trusted me inside, and our defense was locked in all night. When we play together like that, we’re hard to beat.”
The Lady Bears won’t have much time to celebrate as they return to action tonight at home against the Maumelle Hornets, who enter the matchup 2–1 in conference play. Maumelle is known for its quick guards and aggressive transition offense, presenting a key early conference test for Sylvan Hills.
Tip-off is set for tonight at Sylvan Hills, where the Lady Bears will look to carry momentum from Tuesday’s win and continue building toward the heart of conference play.
