As the 2025-2026 school year approaches its end the Hillside is still striving for greatness.

Our very own AVID program is celebrating a historic achievement after students earned more than $5 million in scholarships this year and counting, setting a new school AVID record.

The milestone not only highlights the hard work and dedication of AVID students but also surpasses the total scholarship amount earned by the entire graduating class last year. School leaders say the accomplishment reflects the program’s continued commitment to college readiness, academic excellence, and opportunity.

“We average about a total of 124 thousand in scholarships through our 41 AVID seniors… Absolutely phenomenal” Principal Tracy Allen said.

With this record-breaking year, the AVID program continues to make a lasting impact, opening doors for students and setting a new standard for future classes.
