Kaedon Curtis, a senior at Sylvan Hills High Schol, is a very humble and helpful person. He is also hardworking and leader. One thing that has really helped him open his shell is his involvement with sports and club. It has also given him the opportunity to make new friends and connect with many people.
“People should know that I am one of the most humble and helpful people they would ever meet,” Curtis said.
During Curtis’ high school career, he was involved with track and field. He also participated in football. He was inspired to join track and field because of the involvement that both of his parents had in the sport, particularly his mother’s determination stood out to him.
Kaedon has faced many challenges within his family throughout his high school career, but during this time he has chosen to put all of his faith in God and stopped trying to be in control.
“Losing 20 football games in a row showed me how life is gonna kick you at times,” Curtis said. “Everything is not meant to be handed to you.”
This really showed him that as a man, he is not always going to have handouts and that everything you want in life is on the other side of working hard.
One of the things that Curtis has enjoyed most about being on a sports team is that everyone on the team felt like a big family to him, and he loves to be a part of something that is bigger than himself. Many may be surprised that Kaedon is a “theatre kid” and has actually received scholarships for Theatre Arts.
Curtis’ focus right now is on graduating high school and going to college smoothly. After high school, Curtis sees himself becoming a lawyer. Curtis hopes people will remember him as an individual who gave his all and never complained about anything.
