Ms. Allison Harper is a driven and focused teacher and a coach who wants nothing but the best for her students. She started out as a swimmer herself, and around 2014 or 2015, her daughter also became interested in swimming. Her daughter, Addison Harper, ended up asking Coach Tipton why they didn’t have a swim team. He said that if enough people showed interest, they could start one. Addison brought a few friends, and the rest is history.
Harper has been coaching swim for 11 years and is very proud because, essentially, she and her daughter helped start the program. She is proud of the overall program and proud that she built it into something beyond herself. She is also proud of the students who had never swam before but showed interest. Harper is especially proud of the 20 plus students she taught to swim who had never been in a large body of water before. She is also glad that four of her swimmers received college swimming scholarships.
Harper helped build the program from the ground up and is excited to see how far it will go now. Although she will miss coaching swim, she is happy to spend more time with her family and have a bit more time for herself again.
